"yes ma'am"

So Jack believes that saying yes ma'am is the sum of obedience.

For example:

Me: "Jack, sit down on that rug and wait for me."
Jack: "yes ma'am." then proceeds to trot off in the other direction.
Me: "Jack, I told you to sit here and wait. Obedience is first time quickly."
Jack: "WHAT?"
